My practice focuses on the changeability of matter and the fusion of organic materials and industrial products, in parallel to the human body within its environment. I'm interested in the ways in which we embody our lived reality and imagine different future outcomes. Our present global environment is reliant on synthetics, and undergoing the effects of ongoing imperialism, colonization and extraction. I'm curious about how to work from these material realities, including all of the accompanied transmutations, cross-contaminations and hybridizations.
My main interest lies in boundaries, and where we place the divide in terms of one thing and another. My practice is an inquiry into intimacy, exploring the vulnerable space where separate entities are able to stay in relation to one other without pushing away or taking on something of the other. I'm also interested in the results of a full melding of separate units, and the possible transformation or blurring of the identities of each.
